Before you can rent cameras, audio recorders, or gimbals you MUST take the qualifying course for the equipment you want to rent. When you pass you’ll receive a badge that allows you to rent gear from the lab.
RESERVATIONS FOR GEAR THAT YOU HAVE NOT QUALIFIED FOR WILL BE CANCELLED.
You must be logged on to the site in order to reserve gear. Register in advance because the process is NOT automatic.
You can rent equipment from Thursday evening until Monday morning during the semester. (At other times it is reserved for course usage.)
You can pickup equipment from 18:15-19:00 on Thursday or on Friday.
You MUST drop off equipment in the Digital Media Lab office by 9:00 Monday morning.
The DML provides batteries at the time of rental. Do not dispose of any batteries you receive from the DML!
Cameras and lights must be returned with fully charged batteries.
Always check your camera and light batteries after pickup to make sure that they are fully charged.
The Zoom H1 and Tascam DR-40 use normal AA batteries. The Tascam DR-10L uses a normal AAA battery. The Rode VideoMic uses a 9V battery. If you run out of juice, they can be replaced inexpensively at any pharmacy, supermarket, or tobacco shop.
